A learned lesson from Lightening...

I was chatting away with my lovely friend Elizabeth yesterday and she highlighted to me the lesson Lightening has taught me over the years. To be honest he has taught me way more than one but today I am going to share this one... Lightening came to us with a chronic thick neck due to ongoing laminitis and Cushings. Along the way he has taught me how to deal with both these naturally and it is NOT how we as humans would like to manage it. He has taught me to allow for bumps, for challenges, for deep healing and shown me that deep healing is not always comfortable, to experience or to watch! But I was not allowed to take 'control' and when I did ... we nearly lost him... so I listened and I listened and I have followed his lead. Today he stands pretty skinny but 24 years old. Some would say,' oh that is still young... ponies live till 40...', maybe but when we allow ourselves to live freely and how we/they want without restriction and micro managing they might not always do so. We need to support them of course. We need to help them with pain, of course... we need to provide what we can and do our best but ultimately we need to love them and listen to them and their time here is like ours.... here to complete their soul's journey. Their soul's purpose. To share their teachings, to learn their lessons, to grow.... Or maybe it is more to teach humanity our lessons! It might be they live for 40 years, or 25 years or even 1 year to show us what we need to learn.... we need to let go of the need to 'keep everything alive' for the sake of our ego's.... we cannot bare the pain that death brings... but when we are deeply connected to our natural surroundings we know that death is the only certain thing in this uncertain world... and LOVE.... and we know that death is not the end but simply energy changing form and a soul journeying on.... every experience of love and connection we have felt in our heart for another, is forever in our hearts. And when we step away from the fear and restrictive and controlled lives we have very often created for ourselves or open ourselves to feeling from numbing ourselves, we remember that we are simply energy, dancing among one another, learning and growing and remembering that we are at our essence, pure joy, pure, unconditional love. That is what Lightening has taught me... that yes, I need to support him but I also need to listen. To love and to relinquish the need to control while he heals and shares his path with me and his friends. So we may learn, so we may grow and so we may share the beautiful teachings he lends us.

May you be enriched with love. May you remember that love will always win, even in those moments where everything feels dark and when we allow love to guide, we grow, we heal and we strengthen.

You are love, I am love, we are love. We are one Love.

I love you.
