I am Aware

I am loving this new practice.... every time you feel yourself getting lost in your head, in your thoughts, in anxiety.... say to yourself, "Am I aware?" The moment you say this, you tune into your Awareness. We remember that we are Awareness. We are the Awareness of everything that we see, that we hear, that we touch, that we taste. The more we practice, the more Aware we become and the more connected we become. Another way of looking at it is being fully present. Being in this very moment at every given moment. When we watch animals, they are fully present, especially horses. When allowed they exist fully in the rest and digest state of the parasympathetic nervous system and then move into fight or flight rapidily if alerted to danger. Once the danger has been removed they step back into peace. Presence. This is Awareness. If we are in the moment too we are are no longer fused by things that would normally stress us out, we no longer worry about things that worried us before and we no longer get lost in the noise that is not ours. We deal with each moment as it comes. As humans we have become programmed to love drama, we love stories so much, that very often we can get lost in these very easily and forget that we are actually this beautiful, peaceful, joyful, compassionate being of Awareness.

So how can we deepen our connection to who we truly are... this Awareness...

Self care is important... to become aware of when we numb our pain/emotions/feelings but also we can Tune into saying to yourself daily. I am aware. Say it as much as you can over and over and in time you will just be in that awareness. When you find yourself lost in the anxiety of exams or the chatter from competitive others, lets say for example, bring yourself back to this moment, the breath, stillness and say it again. I am aware. And again and again until this sense of peace returns. In this place, your answers will come, your Awareness expands and life will see overwhelmingly good! What we thought mattered becomes noise... excess...what really matters gets louder and we reconnect to the matters of the heart, to consciousness, to all that is.
